"If you are looking for an inexpensive lip gloss that adds a touch of color plus a little something extra, this is the one for you! The texture of this gloss is a slightly thin liquid gel that is not sticky. I immediately felt my lips soften while the gloss itself was so light it felt like it had completely absorbed within seconds. The ripening lip tint happened within a few minutes. It was a very pretty natural pink that just deepened my natural lip color, but with the added shimmer. In addition, my lips were perfectly moisturized and never felt dry or chapped while I wore it.

I loved the subtle tint effect that didn't become overwhelmingly bright pink/urple, but still made me feel like I wasn't completely bare. The shimmer was really, really pretty. It was not over the top in any way but just added that special touch to my perfectly pink shade. It also had a very pleasant light berry fragrance/flavor. The staying power was also very good, with my pink shade lasting several hours before I needed a touch up. Several times a month we will feature beauty questions from our Palacinka Beauty Blog readers. This week, one of our readers has a question about the best shampoos for wavy, thick corase hair, with some damage due to flat ironing (sound familiar?).

Dear Palacinka Beauty,

I´m from Guatemala and I need your help.

My hair is wavy, thick, coarse, and it´s very damaged since I use flat irons. My budget is not too high so i´m looking for the best shampoo and conditioner i can afford.

I´m wondering which of the drugstore brands could be the best... here I find: Loreal Elvive, Tresemme, Herbal Essences, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Dove, for example... Would you give me your advice, on which of these would be the best for me... take care and thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!





Answer: The first step we encourage you to take is to decrease the frequency of your flat ironing, so your hair can begin to become healthier.

One of our favorite drugstore brands for dry or damaged hair is the L'Oreal Vive Pro line.

We've reviewed a L'Oreal Vive Pro version specifically for damaged hair. Since then we've had a tester with a similar hair texture to yours use their L'Oreal Vive Pro Nutri Gloss Shampoo, For Medium To Long, Curly and Wavy Hair with great results!


This version softens hair, conditions hair without weighing it down, gives incredible shine and doesn't cause a lot of build up. Our tester always used the L'Oreal Vive Pro Nutri Gloss Conditioner, For Medium To Long, That's Curly and Wavy Hair after shampooing, and several times a week would just air dry hair to keep the heat damage to a minimum. This is an excellent formula for the price, and it's very concentrated which also means these very large bottles will last a fairly long time!

"The best part of testing beauty products is that no matter how much you know about ingredients and formulas there is ALWAYS something new to learn- and every now and then that something new is really lovely and delivers on all it's claims.

Fruits and Passion, the Canadian based skincare line, has multiple lines for every skin type and fragrance lover, but this Argan oil based skincare line is one of their finest for dry skin.

The small container holds a very concentrated (less than a dime sized amount was all I needed for both hands), rich cream which was soft and light in texture at the same time. As soon as I massaged it in I could feel the cream sink in and it left a beautiful, nourishing sheen on my hands. They weren't in the least bit greasy, and my cuticles were soft and hydrated.
