Carol’s Daughter Ecstasy Shea Soufflé

Tester: Multi-Ethnic (Domincan/Puerto Rican) with dry skin on body

"I have admired the Carol’s Daughter brand, it's enormous growth (and founder Lisa Price) for several years now. I have heard of the legions of women (and celeb families like the Jolie-Pitts) who love her products for hair and body. We even got to experience the launch of her first fine fragrance, Carol's Daughter Pearls , first hand a few months ago. Yet it took several more months for me to try some of her products, not for lack of interest – just trying to catch up with all the products that I had to review recently!

And what a great way for me to start.

The Shea Soufflé is very creamy, almost pudding-like in texture, but still very light. I loved how luxurious and silky it felt. The cream also managed to hydrate my skin incredibly well yet still absorb quickly and not feel greasey. This is perfect for all of you with dry skin that has to battle cold, dry winters! Because of the texture, only a small amount was needed for each area of my body, since it applied and spread easily.

Now on to the fragrance, Ecstasy. This was also another pleasant surprise. It was certainly a tropical, fruity scent (pineapple is prominent), but it is mixed with a light layer of musk not (overbearing or intimidating at all) which mellows out the sweetness. The nutty macadamia/almond notes mix in well so that it's the perfect "tropical" balance and not heady sweet. I found that it really did a great job of moisturizing my skin well when I used it right out of the shower. It added the perfect amount of sheen to my skin.

I really like the fact that so many natural ingredients are used in this too. The container is a very generous size and has lasted me a long time.

Now that I have tried Carol’s Daughter Ecstasy Shea Souffle I am a believer too!" T.L.
