NYC Beauty Destination - Sundara Airbrush Tanning Salon

Santiago, the owner of Sundara Airbrush Tanning Salon, is a former sun-worshiper who became fascinated by the technology of sunless tanning in 2002.

After several years of researching the technique and developing his own proprietary solutions, Santiago opened the first Sundara salon in early 2005. Sundara means "Beautiful" in the Sanskrit language.

Two years later, the salon expanded to its own state-of- the-art storefront in midtown Manhattan that is the first of its kind engineered from the ground up to maximize the airbrush tanning experience.

Sunless tanning is Sundara’s only service. Sundara has spent years developing its anti-aging, custom color, natural fade and natural based tan formulas.* Even more amazing, they have also spent years researching and developing its custom color matching system so that a person of ANY ethnic background can get a custom tailored tan which will enhance their skin tone. Sundara also has highly trained technician(s), like senior technician Natalie Cupid and the spa is housed in a state-of the art facility.

The process begins with undressing to expose the areas that you desire to have tanned. Then the technician spays in a vertical motion one stripe at a time until the desired color is achieved. Next, you are brought to an area with a wall of electric fans to dry you to a streak-less finish. The tan lasts several weeks and fades naturally and gradually. And best of all, the whole experience takes under 30 minutes!

Many price-friendly options are available! Full body $78, Half body $52 or Face $30

I have been a regular for a few years. I tried another place that was cheaper but not recommended. All the spray tans look great initially. The problem is how the tan fades and whether it fades evenly. Sundara has been the only place that I've tried that has a spray tan that fades evenly!! Very important if you plan on showing your skin. Trust me, exfoliated well on all occasions but their product just fades naturally. Highly recommended.

Honestly, I tried Sundara and I didn't like it as much Suvara, where all the celebs go - Kim Kardashain, Jessica Simpson, Snookie and even Paula Abdul! They have great promos and treat every client like royalty!
