Beauty Find - Jouer Cosmetics

Every now and then I come across a cosmetic line that I've never tried, that has a unique twist which makes me say - now that's a great idea!

Jouer Cosmetics is a fantastic simple, easy to use, color line with mini compacts (lip, eye, cheek) that connect to each other (think interlocking dominos - see picture below, left) to create your own custom makeup palettes.

This means you can pick up some of the compacts to create a palette just for travel, one for special occasions, one for after a workout, etc.

Jouer means "To Play" in French, and play I did with these great items.

Here are some of my favorite picks:

Illuminizing Moisture Tint (a non-interlocking piece of the collection, pictured below, left)

This is one of the best tinted moisturizers I've tried recently. It comes in four shades and is a beautiful, light super moisturizing tint. This is perfect for dry and dry/combination skin.

The tint is creamy and light to the touch. It provided a beautiful silky smooth finish and the illuminzing particles were the perfect size. My skin appeared richer and more glowing, but not shiny, or glittery. The color deep bronze was also a very nice color match for me.

Cream Eye Shadow - Cashmere

Everything from the gorgeous color to the rich pigment and smooth texture is right about this. The cream shadow has incredible staying power and this particular color, which is a blend of brown/deep grey (with a touch of lavender), will work with many skin tones. I tried applying it with a cream eye shadow brush and with my fingers and got a great result both ways.

There is a beautiful gold-flecked finish to this color which brings just right righ touch of "pizzazz" to this neutral shade. I also love that the compact has it's own little mirror. (All the mini compacts have their own mirrors). I plan on getting a few more of the shades as well I was so pleased!

Tint - Poppy/Peony

If you're in the market for a new cream blush, I would definitely recommend this! The texture is again, very smooth - it's a cross between a light cream and a gel. It's non-sticky and applied like a dream.

The color set quickly. It also had great staying power and didn't turn oily, greasy looking or smear. The two shades I loved were Poppy and Peony. Poppy looks like a bright pink in the compact but applies a very pretty sheer medium/warm pink.

Peony is a true coral/pink shade which also applies much sheerer than in the compact. It really woke up my face and looked great throughout the day. These tints worked equally well with no foundation and over foundation, and applied with fingers and with a blending sponge.

This is the perfect blush for when you want to enhance your complexion, but still keep the overall look very natural and healthy looking. If you look on the left side of the compact, you can see the grooves on the side, which is where it allows you to link another Jouer product to it.

Lip Gloss - Mimosa (Part of the new summer collection, seen above and below).

The lip gloss is their new shade, Mimosa is also fabulous. It has a slanted sponge tip applicator. The texture is light, and the shade is a sheer pinky/light caramel with some gold shimmer. It was perfect for a great shiny nude lip.

The finish is shiny, non sticky. The staying power was very good for a gloss, and it also did a fantastic job of moisturizing my lips all day. On the left side of the tube are the grooves which allow it to connect to the other compacts (seen below). - RLB
