I recently tried the latest Guerlain color collection, Russian Beauty, and have a few picks that I couldn't wait to tell you about - just in time for Fall's new looks!
The Ombre Eclat Eyeshadow Palette and the Russian Doll Blush are two items that you can splurge on this season and create multiple soft, pretty, flattering eye effects.
Ombre Eclat Eyeshadow Palette
This beautifully designed palette of four eye shadows contains colors inspired by the dresses worn by Russian princesses. I also love the little
finishing touches like the printed champagne motif stamped on the shadows and on the black and gold case itself. The palette comes with two mini eyeshadow applicators, one for shadow and one for lining.
The shades include a faded orange, brick red, dusty rose and aubergine. I loved how all four of these shades worked together to create a soft, glowing eye effect. The textures are smooth and silky and very easy to blend. The pigments are wonderful and the shadows build very nicely if you want a more intense effect.
Best of all these warm shades will work on most skin tones and are also perfect for creating a rose/bronze smoky eye effect, which I love for Fall!
Russian Doll Blush
For those of you who love a liquid blush, this is a wonderful version. It's a very unique sheer pink which gives the perfect touch of color and luminance. It made me look like I had just a fresh, "just in from the brisk cold" bit of color on my cheeks. The effect was really pretty. This blush will work best up to a Gabrielle Union shade.
The blush is medium thick, creamy and blends very well with either fingers or a makeup sponge. It's very
pigmented, so only a drop on each cheek is needed, which means that this will last a long time. The staying power was also very good over the course of the day into the evening.
The design and shape of the bottle are just gorgeous as well, don't you think? - RLB
