Beauty Find - Neil Morris Perfume, Off Shore

Neil Morris is a master at taking a story, theme or visual idea and turning it into a scent.

Case in point: Morris' latest scent, Off Shore, was inspired by Neil Morris wanting to "create a scent that's as fresh as a summer breeze and shimmers like sunlight dancing on the water".

Morris has done just that.

Off Shore is the perfect summer scent which evokes the moist, salty air, beautiful soft floral notes and a light musk that blends effortlessly with the salty notes on the dry down. As with all of Morris' scents on me, the notes don't just "sit on top" of one another or appear and then evaporate quickly. In Off Shore the fragrance notes appear, blend with one another and then reappear again later in the dry down - simply amazing!

This will go down as yet another one of my top Neil Morris scents.

This is a perfect scent for Sunday brunch, travel or just freshening up at the end of the day, and also makes a perfect beauty gift for the summer graduate in your life! - RLB

1st Look - Lancôme's Declaring Indigo Fall Color Collection

Just a few days ago in Paris, the Lancôme makeup team unveiled their Fall 2009 color collection, Declaring Indigo.

Created by Lancôme artistic director for makeup Aaron De Mey, this collection celebrates Paris in all its vibrancy. Aaron chose shades that represent the glamour, the energy and the passion of Paris—ind
igo blue, bright red and luxurious gold.

Lancome debuted a few key shades during Fashion Week. At Chris Benz, all three Le Vernis nail colors were showcased: Golden Audacity, Indigo Paris (pictured left) and Rouge Liberty. Lancôme spokesmodel Daria Werbowy, pictured above, is the face of the collection. She was photographed by Mario Sorrenti for the ad.

We’ll be reviewing several of these products in the upcoming weeks. Declaring Indigo will be available for sale starting in August, but Nordstrom has a limited-edition Declaring Indigo brush-and-makeup bag set available for pre-order now.

Transport Yourself to A Tropical Paradise With Kai Fragrances

kaiperfume

For me nothing says summer like Kai perfume. Kai perfume oil instantly transports me to a tropical island where tropical gardenia and white exotic flowers are scent the warm island breezes. If you've visited the Hawaiian islands or Tahiti, you'll begin to reminisce of lazy days lounging on white sandy beaches and eating papaya and mangoes by the dozen. In addition to the original perfume oil which has attained cult status, there are other products including a body lotion, body scrub, and an Eau de Parfum. For the home you can find scented room and linen sprays as well as scented votive candles which will turn your space into an tropical paradise.

Beauty Find - Dermalogica Solar Defense Wipes SPF 15

Every once in a while a product comes across my desk and I say to myself- why didn't someone come up with this great idea before?

These Solar Defense Wipes are perfect for everyday protection when you are going to be on the go, traveling with a child or just need something handy to reapply sun protection during the day.

These are meant to be used on the body, and the wipes are very soft and are slightly damp in feel (not dripping wet). They have a pleasant smell (no chemical sunscreen scent!) and best of all, they are great for sensitive skin. They didn't irritate or dry out my skin, and they didn't leave any film or white residue.

Of course the other benefit of sun screen wipes is for travel - easy to pack and won't break or create a mess in your bag!

My only wish is that they come out with higher SPF wipes options, but I'm sure they're already in the works! :) - RLB

Impulse Buy of the Week - Stila Mango Crush Lip & Cheek Stain

This sweet, lovely, vibrant color, Mango Crush, is part of Stila's 2009 Indian Summer Collection.

The shade is very true to it's name - a little orange, a little peach and a touch of red. I found it to be one of Stila's most flattering and versatile shades in the Lip and Cheek stain line. It also has just a touch of pearl finish which really looks great on the cheeks.

This worked perfectly with any neutral or bronzy eye colors and I even got a great result by adding a bit on my cheekbones, over a creamy bronzer. The texture is light and very creamy, so it was easy to blend for the cheek color and brush over lips. The staying power is great - it gave me a dewy (not greasy) finish that lasted during the entire day on the cheeks, and with just a touch up or two on the lips during the day. I have always loved Stila's click pens and so this also get high points for it's portability and ease of use with the click pen mechanism.

This color will work very well up to about a Gabrielle Union shade. Stila Mango Crush Lip & Cheek Stain is a little gem in the Stila Indian Summer collection - don't miss out! - RLB
