Beauty Flashback - Louise Vyent

In this series, I look back at models, entertainers and celebrities who have left an indelible mark on the world of beauty, fashion, modeling, and style for me via magazine covers.
Louise Vyent, the Dutch/Surinamese supermodel, was a staple on magazines in the 80's. I love her strong brows in these magazine covers, and of course you have to marvel at her amazing bone structure and gorgeous skin!

In this first cover from Glamour Magazine in Sept. 1988, they really make use of the bold yellow in the coat and the clever star earring placement to make this a stunning cover. Her trademark thick defined brows are a notable feature here, along with a soft natural looking grey eye and reddish brown lips.

In this second Glamour cover from January 1987 her brows are even fuller and darker, and she's got a smokey eye, with thick eye liner along with a natural, soft red lip.
The third cover, from November 1987 Glamour, sees Louise again with a yellow theme in the title and the sweater, and beautiful, bold ethnic earrings. The skin is flawless with very little makeup on the eyes, and a nice bronzy lip.
Louise always looks fresh, approachable and like she was having fun modeling!

I also added a fourth cover, (shown at the bottom) from Vogue February 1987, which in my opinion is one of their most beautiful covers using the "portrait" approach.
The makeup was done by the legendary makeup artist, Kevyn Aucoin. The colors used not only for her makeup- like the beautiful berry lips - but also the beautiful coiled floral-accented cranberry red scarf ,really accentuate her skin and features in an incredible way.

It seems that Louise learned more than how to pose in front of a camera, while working with some of the best known fashion photographers in the world - she also picked up the craft, and is now a very successful photographer herself! -RLB
