Ohh la la...there's nothing I love more than a decadent French beauty product - that's also innovative. Many of you are familiar with Givenchy's Le Prisme eye shadow palette's, which feature silky textures and beautiful shades. Now Givenchy has launched Givenchy Le Prisme Mono Eyeshadow, which creates multiple shadow effects from matte, to shimmery, to iridescent, within 1color to create a wide range of looks. If you love playing with makeup this is the palette for you! I chose 01 Showy Black and I was more than pleased. Each black is slightly different - ranging from a rich, deep true black, to blacks topped with silver and one shiny black with blue undertones and blue shimmer. The pigments are fantastic and these shadows blended easily and looked as vibrant and true as they did in the pan. The wear was very good - very little creasing or fading (but I got my best results by applying a primer first).
For a smoky eye look, this palette cannot be beat - I experimented with using the darkest, matte shade around the eye with the shiniest black on the inner corners and on the lids, as well as using one of the more iridescent shades layered over the matte black around the entire eye...the possibilities really are endless if you have a creative mind. The shadows can also be used/mixed wet or dry.
One thing to note is that although the actual case is small (about 2 x 2 "in, as are all of the Prismes), the actual amount of shadow in each section of the palette is quite large.
Givenchy Le Prisme Mono Eyeshadow is also perfect for tucking into your bag so that you can add some shimmer on top of the matte black color that you've applied during the day, for a quick and easy night time look, since there's also a mirror and small applicator included. - RLB
