Essie Takes Us To The Tropics With Their New Resort Collection

While I'm not usually a fan of seasonal colors or special limited-edition collections when it comes to nail polish (I become too attached to signature colors!), I have to say the latest summer-festive Essie Resort Collection really caught my eye. Reminiscent of beachy sands, lush palm trees, deep blue waters, and the perfect fruity cocktail, it's fun and fresh while mixing both wearable basics and more indulgent, funky shades for summer. From left to right, the collection features Lapis of Luxury, Turquoise & Caicos, Splash of Grenadine, and Playa del Platinum. The colors may not be unique exactly, but unlike many theme-based polish collections, these actually look like a cohesive set that look great together, which just makes me want to buy all four!

The four cream-finish shades are a bit more sheer for my liking, but have a jelly-like, easy-to-apply consistency that looked smooth and even after 3 or so coats. The Playa del Platinum is the perfect on-trend shade of "greige," and while it seems like the least summery of the four shades (despite its "sandy" color), it's a great go-with-anything neutral to add to my collection. I also love the look of Turquoise & Caicos, which once applied looked like a brighter, more summery take on last season's mint green that everyone went crazy over. If you're having a hard time deciding on (or committing to) just one full-sized bottle, opt for the set of all 4 minis to get more bang (and more versatility!) for your buck!
