Spring/Summer 2011 NYFW Beauty
For Mara Hoffman's Spring/Summer 2011 runway show, Make Up For Ever's key makeup artist, Lottie (shown below, right) created a fresh "cool girl" look for the models.
Her look focused on dew, skin, groomed brows and very natural lips. In particular, I loved her modern take on the black smoky eye. Lottie created a "lived in" eyeliner finish which was smoked out on the bottom lash line only to create an intense look.
Lottie created this eye look by using MAKE UP FOR EVER Pearly Waterproof Eye Shadow Pencil #13 was used all over the eye for highlighting the lid and crease. The inside of the bottom lash line was rimmed with MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Black. Then the outer bottom lashes were lined with MAKE UP FOR EVER Khol Pencil #1 which was smoked out for a smudgy intensity. A thick coat of MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky Lash completed the eyes, and lastly, MAKE UP FOR EVER Eyebrow Pencil was used to fill in the brows for a well-groomed yet natural look.
For the rest of the face, Lottie applied MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Invisible Cover Foundation for a flawless complexion, and then applied MAKE UP FOR EVER Pan Cake #3 on top to give the skin a soft, dewy glow. To add a contour to the cheeks, Lottie used MAKE UP FOR EVER Sculpting Kit #10 and #20 for definition, and finished with MAKE UP FOR EVER Sculpting Blush #20 for a pop of color.
The lips were kept natural with just one coat of MAKE UP FOR EVER Moisturizing Lip Balm.
This is a cute, slightly edgy look that everyone can totally wear for spring! - RLB
