Well, once again the color Orange made it's presence known on models during this week's NYFW shows. This time it was courtesy of Dick Page, Artistic Director of Shiseido for the Spring/Summer 2011 Marc by Marc Jacobs runway show.
Marc showed a fun, colorful collection with hints of 1930s and 1970s silhouettes, and Page came up with a fun twist on using the orange to suit the clothes. The make-up look was all about "Matte, Matte, Matte!"as one of the make-up artists yelled backstage before the show.
For the lips he chose matte orange lipstick in a bright hue. For the blush he used a dusty rosy-pink. For the eyes he contoured them with black pencil eyeliner (not too heavy) and used a glossy clear eye shadow that gave the eyes a glow as if lip gloss was applied to them. The end result? A fresh, clean look with a bright pop of orange on the lips that matched perfectly with the colorful orange accessories in the collection.
For the hair looks Diane Dutan, for Redken, was inspired by Vogue editor Grace Coddington’s hair
Most of the models wore a high, half-ponytail with big, teased hair while others had loose bobs pinned under their hair.
