Madonna's amazing makeup artist, Gina Brooke was also crazy about Hourglass - so much so, she's now the Artistic Director for the brand!
One of the newest products to debut under Brooke's position is their Femme Rouge Velvet Creme Lipstick.
I was recently able to try out this luxury lipstick in a very pretty "your lips but better" shade, Fresco (pictured, above left). Again, I was more than impressed. The texture of the lipstick is creamy, moisturizing and light on the lips, with a feel almost like a gloss, no shimmer and no high shine. The finish is healthy, dewy and fresh looking. Although it's not a long wearing lipstick per se, I usually got over 3 hours wear with it before having to reapply. I loved the elegant, bronzed metal lipstick case and the fragrance, which is a soft vanilla scent. The Fresco shade is pretty close to perfection. It's a lovely rose with the perfect amount of brown. It's not cool and just slightly warm - really very neutral, so most skintones, (except for very dark brown) will be able to wear this for a polished "nude" or nearly nude lip effect. I've found myself reaching for it time and time again since first using it. (It's also going in my new favorite travel cosmetics bag for my upcoming trip for Labor Day!). - RLB
