The latest Dolce&Gabbana Secret Garden Collection, created by Pat McGrath, was inspired by the duos Spring 2011 runway collection.
Two of the standout products from the collection for me are the The Crayon Intense in Lilac and the The Intense Nail Lacquer in Platinum.
These beautiful beauty treats are exactly what you need to add a little feminine color to your makeup collection, and they'll be in stores next week!
The Crayon Intense is a very flattering and wearable true lilac shade - no shimmer, very creamy and easily bendable. This shade looks great with brown eyes in particular! You can pair this on it's own with lots of deep purple or black mascara, or over a bit of black to deepen it for a smoky eye.
The Platinum Nail Lacquer is also a very pretty departure from the common spring pastel shades. It's a rich, creamy, true platinum chrome shade with a touch of grey, but not overly metallic or shiny - as a matter of fact, this would easily make a very nice modern take on the "nude" nail. There's no shimmer, glitter effect or sparkle.
The formula as always is creamy and smooth, and two coats gives the true platinum color in the bottle. The wear with top coat is very good - at least 5 days before any chipping.
As always, Pat has managed to create spring color in a totally unique and effortlessly beautiful, modern way. Pick these up - you'll be happy you did! - RLB
