I love to see the new cosmetic collections Illamasqua comes up with each season.
They really push the boundaries for what colors we can wear on various parts of our face, and come up with lovely finishes for dramatic and bold looks.
This season, their Toxic Nature collection is one of my favorites, and their standout product is the Illamasqua Cream Pigment . The pigments come in colors that are inspired by the collection's "corrupted colors and poisonous pastels". The are extremely creamy, pigmented and easy to work with. I loved Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Bedaub, which is a lovely matte mint green.
I layered this pigment under other, deeper green powder/cream shadows, as well as on it's own with lots of lashes.
The pigments work equally well with fingers and cream brushes. I should also say that I got slightly better wear during the day using it with eyeshadow primer. I loved that it's such a pretty, yet unexpected, shade, and because the color is easily buildable.
If you want a more subtle look, just use a thin layer. However, if you want a much more daring look closer to the ones used in their Toxic Nature campaign images (such as the one shown left), you can use about three layers for that true matte mint green shade.
For a more adventurous way to wear it, you can use also this to create face art on cheeks, on your lips, or as a cream eye liner. It's a lot of fun if you're looking to branch out of your everyday look! - RLB
