Last week I attended the launch of Hourglass Cosmetics' latest beauty innovation - as demonstrated by the amazing Gina Brooke, (who, if you didn't know, also happens to be Madonna's long time makeup artist!). Hourglass Lash Lacquer was created to give glossy, shiny lashes, and as Gina explained, it's formulated to be applied on top of mascara (their Hourglass Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara Onyx is an amazing one).
This is the perfect product for those of you who really want to add a special effect to your lashes (even false eyelashes!). I loved playing around with it creating more natural looks to very bold spiky lash looks. After adding a coat of mascara I applied a coat of the lacquer in a swiping "painting" sort of motion from the base of the lashes to the tips with the liquid liner style brush.
The formula is a medium weight liquid that feels light on the lashes and dries quickly. The difference was immediate - my lashes looked very shiny, glossy and super long and separated. The color is very dark black full of pigment - so depending on what look I was trying to achieve, one coat was usually enough.
Because this product is so pigmented with a formula which prevents it from running, flaking or drifting, when removing it at night you will notice that it will take a few more swipes than usual to remove - and you will see VERY black residue on your wipe/cotton ball.
This is definitely the perfect finishing eye makeup product for a true beauty lover! - RLB
