3 Reds: 3 Ways - Elizabeth Arden Lipsticks

Sephora.com, Inc. The red lip is a look that everyone can wear. It's always classic, always bold and always elegant. Today, there are many ways to wear a red lip, and Elizabeth Arden has updated many of their lip stick formulas to make it even easier to wear a statement making red - any way you want: Dewy, Sheer or Matte, with different effects.

The first Elizabeth Arden lipstick I tried was the
Ceramide Ultra Lipstick in Rouge (first picture at top). This is a beautiful, slightly blue- based red that made my entire complexion light up. The texture is unbelievably smooth and creamy and it was very moisturizing - all day, without feeling heavy or greasy. It has a slightly dewy (not shiny) finish and has a "plumping" technology which I felt helped with smoothing out little lip lines for an overall better appearance. There's just a touch of shimmer. The staying power was very impressive (even at the end of the day with no touch ups I still had "stained" lips).

The next red was Color Intrigue Effects Lipst
ick in Poppy Cream (shown, left) , which is a bright red red with a touch of pink and subtle shimmer that I normally would not gravitate to, but there's a beautiful semi-matte finish which really makes this flattering. It brightened up my complexion with a pop of color, and it was also very hydrating to my lips. With it's low level shimmer, it's certainly a shade you can wear in the daytime.

The third red was the Exceptional Lipstick in Red Diamond (shown below), and it's a very different one for me. This red is a mix of a lighter red mixed with orange/gold and peach for an iridescent effect with more shimmer than the others. It has a semi-sheer finish and never dried my lips out. This is a great red when you want to sport a different type of red lip. I think it's great for evening looks. - RLB
