Ah...Tom Ford. Everything he touches - from his fashion designs to his fragrances and initial cosmetic collection, has a dose of glamour, sexiness and a bit of a old Hollywood feeling to it.
His latest scent is built around the Violet Leaf. It's a sophisticated scent that is for a woman who likes making a statement with her perfume - but doesn't want to overpower either.
I loved the opening notes of Violet Blonde. It began very soft, and slightly spicy with a fresh burst of violet notes. Later, it grew more into a floral scent with the violet and iris notes carried throughout. The dry down was an enduring musk note that still retained a bit of that violet as well - it was sensual, warm and inviting. All in all, this scent has a beautiful smoothness and elegance to it that also made me feel very "posh" :)
The sillage and staying power is fantastic as well - after spraying it in the morning, by evening I still had the scent all around me. This fragrance can be worn with a lighter touch by day, but I really love this for evenings.
If you're a fan of Tom's previous perfume bottle designs (black and white, respectively), you will also love this one (transparent, but with the same line-etched detail on the glass, with slightly different shaped gold hardware on the front), on your dresser as well. - RLBFragrance Notes:
Violet Leaf Absolute, Italian Mandarian, Baie Rose, Tuscan Orris Absolute, Tuscan Orris Butter, Jasmin Sambac, Sampaquita, Benzoin, Cedarwood, Vetiver Absolute, Musk, Soft Suede.
