How to Pull off Dramatic Makeup

Tips on How to Pull Off Dramatic Makeup

I’m usually a nothing-on-the-lips kind of gal. Maybe it’s because I’m lucky enough to have some natural color in my pucker or because I hate having to reapply every time I eat or drink. Either way, wearing lipstick is an exception rather than a rule for me.

Which must be why my friends were totally blown away when I showed up wearing bright red lipstick to an after-work dinner. The first thing they said to me: “Wow, you look all glowy!” and “Love the bright lips!” What’s awesome is that not only were the compliments good for my ego, but I also got a confidence boost knowing I stood out. So I truly recommend going the bold route -- especially for any big presentations, dates or speeches you’ve got to make, where you’ll really need the extra confidence.

Scared to take the plunge? Here’s some stuff I learned to help you know you’re doing it right:

  1. Choose just one feature and make it bold.
Makeup artists and makeup counter gurus alike will tell you this: If you’re going for a red lip, go easy on the eyes and cheeks. Just pick one feature to accent boldly and make the rest more subdued. To avoid the clown look, never go bold all over (unless, of course, it’s Halloween … or it’s your kid’s birthday party and the entertainer canceled).
  2. Make sure you’re totally put together.
Just because your lips look amazing doesn’t mean you should neglect your hair or your skin. You don’t want to get paranoid that everyone can see that unconcealed zit, your shiny T-zone or your cowlick.

  3. Apply in good lighting.
Doing drastic makeup requires using some finesse while applying. That means having a steady hand and great lighting that allows you to see exactly what you’re doing.

  4. Check the mirror more often.
Even if you buy longwearing makeup, you’ll need to check your makeup more frequently than normal. That’s because it can easily fade, feather or come off on your wineglass. And unlike with the natural look, everyone will notice.

  5. Really prepare for the extra attention.
You’ll love all the extra positive feedback about how hot you look, but know that there may be some compliments you may not exactly be looking for (you know, the stereotypical construction-worker-style cat calls). Try not to get annoyed -- and know that it happens just because you look totally amazing.

Impulse Buy of the Week - Hello Kitty Mon Amour Palette

Hello Kitty Mon Amour Palette ReviewShephoa, Inc. This year our favorite little Kitty travels to France!

The Hello Kitty Mon Amour Palette is the perfect treat to create soft, feminine spring looks. The key word here is: soft. The shadows are creamy, blendable and are very easy to layer, but the finish is very sheer, so although they are pigmented, it's for a soft pastel eye. The Raspberry Macaroon blush is also a really deep pink with a little pop or red that looks great on all skin tones.

My favorite shades in the palette are the Passion Fruit Macaroon, Fleur de Lys and Eiffel Tower which are perfect together or blended with any other the other shades.

It's the perfect beauty treat for yourself and of course the Hello Kitty lover in your life! - RLB

Get the Look - Sophia Vergara at SAG Awards

Get Sophia Vergara's beauty look from 2012 SAG AwardsShephoa, Inc. Sophia Vergara has been a stunning fixture lately on the awards show red carpet circuit. At last night's SAG awards she was "classic Sophia" - featuring a beautiful clean, fresh - yet sultry look that's easy to recreate with Cover Girl Cosmetics!

Here's how to get the look from her makeup artist Kayleen McAdams

"You'll see that Sofia's jewelry had purple tones, in both the bracelet and earrings so I wanted to subtly bring that out in the eye with a plum shadow", says McAdams. "To bring the whole look together, I used a mauve lipstick as it complemented the eye and also accented the jewelry".

How face products were applied:

I applied COVERGIRL TRUconceal Concealer #4 under the eyes and around the nose first, and then applied COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Nutmeg #360 using a sponge starting at the center of the face and then blending outwards. To set these creamy products, I used a good, fluffy brush and COVERGIRL Clean Pressed Powder in Soft Honey. To brighten the face, I applied COVERGIRL Cheekers Blush in Classic Pink along the cheekbones.

How eye products were applied:

I started with COVERGIRL Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Brown Blaze at the outer corner of the upper lash line and all the way along the bottom. I applied COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadows in Forever Fig over the entire lid starting at the outer corners and blending towards the center. I then used COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadows in Brown Smolder at the outer corners and along the bottom lash line. I finished the eyes with two coats of COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume Blasting Mascara in Very Black on both the top and bottom lashes.

How lip products were applied:

I started with COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipcolor in Eternal to fill in Sofia's entire lip. To add dimension to the lip, I used new COVERGIRL Blast Flipstick Lipcolor in Vixen in the center to give it a little shimmer.

Additional beauty prep:

-At the last minute, I decided to add a little more brown liner to the upper lash line to give it further depth. Other than that the look was all set!

-I gave Sofia the lip products I used as well as a pressed powder to combat any potential shine throughout the night

-When I applied COVERGIRL Blast Flipstick Lipcolor, I started with a lighter pink but eventually decided to switch to a mauve shade. The COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipcolor in Eternal is one of our absolute favorites so I knew we wanted to use that one

Get Your Caffeine Fix With Barista Bath & Body's Coffee-Infused Skin & Haircare

If you've resolved to cut back on your caffeine intake for 2012 like some of the crazy people I know, you're likely seriously jonesin' for a cup of joe by now! If you don't mind, I'm going to go ahead and keep sippin' away at my 6 cups a day (don't hate), but I do have a lil somethin' that might help you get your caffeine fix, no double-shot non-fat no-foam latte required! Barista Bath and Body is all about creating natural skin and hair products that promote our bodies' natural ability to rejuvenate, and to infuse that same joe-induced joy into their products that we coffee fiends get from sippin' our macchiatos, jitter-free!

But wait - coffee for your skin? Barista incorporates organic coffee, coffee extract, essential oils and herbal extracts to take advantage of the beautifying benefits of coffee, like reducing the appearance of cellulite and promoting hair strength, elasticity and shininess. The products themselves are also adorably packaged and cleverly named, from the One Lump or Two exfoliating scrub to the Perk It Up energizing shampoo, so they're not only a great way to get your fix and beautify yourself, but also make perfect gifts too!

End-of-Winter Trend Alert: Charcoal Nail Shades

End-of-Winter Trend Alert: Charcoal Nail Shades

Keeping up with nail polish trends can be tricky enough - now, with the added awkwardness of the transition phase between winter and spring, you've got yourself a real stumper. But don't fret - it's time to say 'so long' to your blacker-than-black tips and lighten up (just a little) with a charcoal or gunmetal polish.

Charcoal still has that edgy sophistication of
black, but has a bit more depth and mystery in its cloudy, slightly-shimmery finish. Last year, no one could get enough of matte gray shades, so consider charcoal to be the sexy, updated 2012 answer to last year's fad. If glitter is your thing, don't miss Nars' Night Breed with its lustrous silver glitter. RGB's Slate and ButterLondon's Chimney Sweep also have sparkle but with a considerably more subtle, shimmery finish. On the other hand, Deborah Lippmann's Stormy Weather is the perfect creamy granite shade - no sparkle here! - while Forever21's Charcoal shade allows you to experiment with the trend without burning a whole in your wallet!

Will drinking water before meals help me lose weight?

From the Editors of Completely You

Why drinking water before meals will help you lose weight

If you are struggling to lose weight, come take a
look at MYAVaser Lipo

Yes, my weight loss research at Virginia Tech shows that drinking water before eating can make a difference in how many pounds you drop.

In our study, reported in the journal Obesity, we divided participants aged 55 to 75 into two groups: One group was instructed to drink 2 cups of water 30 minutes before each meal, the other was not. Both groups followed the same meal plan, eating 1,200 to 1,500 calories a day.
While the water group lost, on average, 15.5 pounds over 12 weeks, the non-water group lost 11 pounds -- a notable difference. We also received fewer complaints of hunger from the water group, and they seemed to have an easier time following the diet.
In older adults, food takes longer to leave the stomach, so they’ll feel full longer by drinking water half an hour before mealtime. Younger people may need to drink water 15 minutes or even right before a meal to see the same effects. (This is something we’ll probably explore in future research.)At the very least, caloric beverages are definitively linked to weight gain. So switching to water is an easy way to reduce the number of total calories you consume.

Celebrity Makeup Artist Jamie Greenberg shared her makeup tricks with me for getting this gorgeous look!

Prep:

“I prepped Rashida’s skin by applying mark Get A Tint Tinted Moisturizer Lotion SPF 15 in Honey/Golden all over. It was perfect for Sundance because we really wanted a fresh complexion. Rashida’s skin is gorgeous to begin with, so this just added a natural glow.”

Cheeks:

“I applied mark Just Pinched Instant Blush Tint in Nude to the apples of Rashida’s cheeks to create a flush from within. Then, I lightly dusted mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder all over for a sun-kissed look. Next, I highlighted her cheekbones with mark Glowdacious Illuminating Powder in Amped Up and spot-touched her skin with mark Save the Day Anti-Acne Concealer Stick. ”

Eyes:

“I prepped Rashida’s eyes with a bit of mark Please Hold Eye Primer. Next, I used mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eye Shadow in Latte on her crease and a variety of colors from mark On the Dot Eye Color Compact on the lid. I lined the top of her eye with mark On the Edge Hook Up Liquid Eyeliner in Cleo to add definition. To the inside of her eye line, I applied mark No Place To Run Longwear Eyeliner in Jet Set. Next, I used mark Mini Mark It Stick Hook Up Stick for Eyes in Cocoa Bean to line the bottom of her eye for a soft frame. I curled Rashida’s lashes using mark Make Me Lash Eyelash Curler and applied two coats of mark Scanda-Lash Hook Up Mascara in Blacklash to her top lashes, and one to her bottom lashes.

Lips:

“I used mark The Big Fix 15-in-1 Benefits Balm to moisturize Rashida’s lips.”

NY Beauty Destination - Lali Lali Salon

Lali Lali New York Salon ReviewSephora.com, Inc. Right in the middle of busy downtown Broadway in the Soho section of the city, you can find Lali Lali Salon, a beautiful haven to escape for a few hours for some of the best beauty, nail, hair as well as body treatments.

I was recently treated to their amazing Stone Massage, which their massage therapist, Lenine (a male) preformed.

If you've never treated yourself to a stone massage, believe me, this is the place to experience it for the first time. The massage begins with warm oil and a careful and attentive deep tissue massage (you can direct the masseuse as to how hard/strong you like the pressure). Once the body is loose and relaxed, he places the amazing warm (not burning hot and they can be adjusted to your liking) stones are placed in various pressure points - legs, feet, neck, shoulders, etc. Then Lenine used slightly larger stones to go over the body once again in a massage that will left me feeling amazingly blissed out and as limp as a noodle! He's very good at working out knots and kinks in places you don't normally think about, like calfs and arms.

The whole massage is a little over an hour and worth every penny. I've been a big believer in stone massages for the past 6 years or so, and this was certainly one of the best I've received here in the city. - RLB

Beauty and the Cold

This guest post is courtesy of Elena Donovan Mauer for Completely You

Beauty and the Cold Tips for Winter

We’re right smack in the middle of cold and flu season, and no matter how much we manage to Purell, the average adult still gets about two to four colds each year. And as much as I’ve been dying to take a true sick day -- during which I lie in bed and watch the Kardashians all day -- somehow I never manage to.

So if you’re feeling awful but have responsibilities (e.g., a meeting with your boss or an interview with a potential new one) and you want to look a whole lot better (which will make you feel at least a little bit better), how do you handle this tricky beauty routine? This is what I’ve found works.

1. Get plenty of sleep.

Go to bed at the same ridiculously early hour your 2-year-old niece does. The more rest you get, the less likely you’ll be to have puffiness or dark circles around your eyes. Plus, rest can help your body recoup more easily.

2. Try the cucumber trick.

Remember when your mom taught you to put cool cucumber slices over your eyes to reduce puffiness? Well, it really does help. Try that if your eyes are looking super-sleepy. A cool washcloth also works nicely.

3. Moisturize well.

Use a nice, light moisturizer that isn’t greasy (i.e., won’t make you shiny) to help restore evenness and a healthy-looking complexion. Pay special attention to the area around your nose, which is probably extra-dry from all that nose-blowing.

4. Pluck your eyebrows.

I know you’re totally exhausted, but just spend an extra five minutes ridding yourself of any stray hairs around your brows. A little neatness goes a long way in perking up your face.

5. Curl the lashes.

Fake your way to looking awake by giving your lashes a curl and then applying a waterproof mascara. Avoid going heavy on the eyeliner or shadow, since your eyes tend to water a lot when you’re sick, and you don’t want to deal with heavy makeup running.

6. Go easy on the base.

Choose a lightweight foundation or tinted moisturizer instead of a thick base, since overdoing it when your skin is dry or scaly could make it look really caked on.

7. Brush on some color.

A sweep of bronzer, a few circles of glowy blush (not across your nose -- cheeks only!), and you’re totally on your way to faking a healthy glow. The finishing touch? Some tinted lip balm or lipstain that matches your lip color. You might not feel much better, but you will look hot -- and not just from a fever.

How do you make sure you look good -- even when you’re sick? Tell me below or tweet me @Completely_You

Hair Care Find - SoftnFree Milk Protein and Olive Oil Hair Growth Daily Lotion

SoftnFree Milk Protein and Olive Oil Hair Growth Daily Lotion Review Sofn'free GroHealthy Milk Protein & Olive Oil Daily Growth LotionSofn'free GroHealthy Milk Protein & Olive Oil Daily Growth Lotion Product Review has not only been a wonderful part of my relaxed hair care regimen, but also for my little "sporty spice" who has long, wavy/curly hair that gets dry with the colder, winter temps.

For relaxed hair, this is perfect to add to the ends on a daily basis. For wavy, very curly, kinky, loosely curly hair or straight hair, you can add more to the entire length of the hair, concentrating a bit more on the ends.

It smells amazing - to me its a fresh/floral/vanilla blend. It's creamy yet light and sinks into hair immediately hydrating on contact. This will be great for any hair texture on dry ends or for late day frizzies or fly aways.

I didn't notice a lot of build up with the product even when using daily, and it worked equally well on dry hair as a daily styling product, as well as on damp hair prior to air drying, or using along with a heat protection product for blow drying, flat ironing.

I also noticed a definite improvement in the amount of hair breakage. On very cold, dry days this was perfect to add a second time, just before bedtime, for softer, silkier hair that was much easier to style in the morning as well.

And I love the price too - (approx $5.99)! - RLB

Benefit's Watt's Up Highlighter is Here to Brighten Up Your Beauty Routine

This guest post is courtesy of Thefind.com

Benefit Cosmetics Watts Up Product Review

Is it too early to start compiling 2012's Christmas wish list? Just kidding - lucky for my wallet and me, the latest makeup must-have I've got my sights set on is hardly a splurge and worth every penny! Benefit's brand-new addition to their modest collection of facial highlighters, Watt's Up, serves up a pretty cream-to-powder champagne-hued sheen that's multi-flattering and softly gorgeous for any occasion.

I've never been much of a blush girl, but I've developed a recent obsession with their more subtle cousin, as highlighters still work to sculpt and flatter without the added pressure of finding your perfect shade. Blend with fingers, a stippling brush, or the handy sponge applicator that comes with it depending on your desired effect and coverage. Oily complexions beware - be sure to use sparingly to accent cheekbones and work the light to your advantage. You may be surprised by how far a little touch of highlighter can go when it comes to boosting your overall glow!

Drugstore Buy of the Week - Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara ReviewSephora.com, Inc. The good news is Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara is a fantastic mascara for a drugstore price. It will lengthen, define and even leave your lashes soft and silky. However, if you were looking for significant lash growth, I'm not sure this is the product for you.

The formula and brush however are brilliant! It gave me tremendous length, volume and great definition without any clumping or flaking. I was able to get into the inner and outer corners with the narrow brush tip design as well to get them fully coated.

The plus is that this wet mascara formula (it does take a few minutes to fully dry) does contain ingredients that make the lashes super soft and silky, and the effect after three coats definitely compares to wearing false eyelashes. If you need more curl however, it's best to curl lashes before using this formula. After using for almost a month exclusively, I can say that my lashes became slightly longer, and were very soft and smooth to the touch.

The mascara lasts all day with no running or rubbing off, and it was easy to remove with both cleanser and makeup remover at the end of the day.

So, all in all, I recommend this mascara to give you "va va voom" lashes that will also be silkier and smoother. If you do find it also make your lashes longer as a result - then that's a great bonus, isn't it? - RLB

5 Bad Beauty Habits You Didn’t Know You Had

5 Bad Beauty Habits You Didn’t Know You Had

You’re conscientious about your health, so of course you try to avoid obvious bad habits -- like pimple-popping -- and do everything right. But sometimes you can do your skin and pearly whites more harm than good, without even knowing it. Here, five things that sound like good skin and oral health practices -- and why they really aren’t.

Bad Habit No. 1: You wash your face every morning and evening.

For people with oily (or even combination) skin, twice-daily washing is probably the best approach. But if you have dry skin, that may be too much. Dry types should wash with a gentle cleanser in the evening and just splash the face with water in the morning. And even oily skin types need to be careful. “Over-washing can remove too much oil, leading to a paradoxical response from your body to overproduce oil,” explains Dr. Joshua Zeichner, director of cosmetic and clinical research in the dermatology department at New York City’s Mount Sinai Hospital. “And that can actually lead to breakouts.”

Bad Habit No. 2: You stick to the same skin care regimen.

It’s a good idea to be consistent with your skin care. But you also have to be ready to adapt. “In areas where winter weather is dry and cold, you may need to switch to products that are gentler,” recommends Zeichner. Swap out your foaming cleanser or soap for a hydrating cream cleanser, and upgrade from a light lotion to a thicker moisturizer.

Bad Habit No. 3: You only moisturize when your skin feels dry.

Moisturizers do more than just hydrate. They also help repair your skin’s barrier so that it doesn’t get as easily irritated by cold, heat, and lack of humidity, so all skin types can benefit from a daily dose of the right cream or lotion. Look for an oil-free formula if you have oily skin, or a heavier one that contains petrolatum if you have dry skin. Of course, everyone can benefit from a moisturizer that contains at least SPF 30, even in winter.

Bad Habit No. 4: You assume more is better.

“Sometimes combinations of products complement each other. But often layering on too many lotions, serums and creams just causes irritation,” says Zeichner. His advice: Check the ingredient labels on your products and don’t combine those that contain retinol, alpha-hydroxy acids, salicylic acid, vitamin C or benzoyl peroxide.

Bad Habit No. 5: You brush your teeth just twice (or once!) a day.

Yes, you need to brush every morning and every night. But if you routinely drink liquids that can easily stain your teeth (like coffee and red wine), it’s a good idea to brush quickly afterwards. If that’s not convenient, dentists recommend at least swishing some water around in your mouth so that staining liquids don’t have a chance to take hold.

Fragrance Find - Leila Lou Gift Set

Leila Lou Gift Set Fragrance ReviewGet $10 off $50 at Beauty.com!

Leila Lou perfume is a light, pretty and "ocean-like" in feel that comes in an adorable roller ball oil perfume/candle set.

It's all housed in a transformable bag that doubles as small clutch/tote with this inspirational message...

Not only is this a wonderful way to welcome a friend into a new home, celebrate her birthday or other holiday, but it's a scent that will be remembered and well liked by most.

This is a floral with a touch of citrus and sweetness. It starts off with a mix of light citrus and "salty air" notes which give that beach-like, summery feel. I loved how this opened up on me. The key floral note here is the Jasmine, which was quite prominent on me. The Jasmine mixed with some of the sweeter notes like nectarine and grass give it that feel that also conjures up the sand. The middle and base notes are pear blossom, vanilla and cotton musk which are soft and warm, but still keep a overall lightness in the composition of the fragrance.

This is also a wonderful scent for those of you who like lighter scents overall, but with staying power, since I got over 6+ hours of very good wear with this fragrance oil. The oil is also 100% natural which is another great benefit for those of you who prefer natural fragrances.

The candle remains true to the scent of the perfume oil, with a slight more Jasmine, but equally as lovely as a scent to take your mind to "summer on the beach" within your home or office!

The products in the set can also be purchased individually.- RLB

Easy Tricks To Create Golden Globes Hairstyles!

This post courtesy is of DailyMakeover

The stars may have spent hours in hair and makeup before hitting the red carpet, but we have the scoop from the Wella Professionals hairstylists, who created some of the evening's most glamorous hairstyles, on how to get these looks at home without breaking a sweat.

Michelle Williams
"Michelle looks incredible with this short, modern Mia Farrow inspired style," says LA stylist Chris McMillian, who created her look. "It's a retro '60s combined with Flapper flair type of look that shows there's still a lot of glamour and versatility with short hair."

To Get The Look: First, apply Wella Professionals Natural Volume Styling Mousse to wet hair, then use your hands to shape your hair while it air dries. Once dry, lift up your roots and blow dry upward to create extra lift at the crown. Then, apply Wella Professionals Mirror Polish for a glossy finish and to help smooth hair into shape. Add a simple black headband with a jeweled brooch to give this retro look a modern spin. Push bangs to the side where the jewel is positioned for a heavy fringe effect.

Claire Danes
Claire Danes looked every bit the belle of the ball in a gorgeous black and white J. Mendel gown and a soft, swept-back chignon. Hairstylist, Peter Butler, created Danes' look by envisioning a modern-day Grace Kelly.

To Get The Look: The trick to creating a soft, flattering updo to is to first create a lot of volume. Butler used Wella Professionals Extra Volume Mousse on damp hair, then blow dryed it. Next, curl hair with a large barrel curling iron for extra volume, then pull hair back into a high pony and wrap it into a tight knot. (Danes' look was only secured with TWO hair pins!) Lastly, comb back hair with fingers, coated with Wella Professionals Mirror Polish Shine Serum for a soft sheen. Spritz with Wella Professionals Stay Essential hairspray for a hold that will last all night.

Madonna Golden Globes Hairstyle

Madonna
The perfect look for Madge to compliment her flowing Reem Acra dress? Effortless, soft waves, of course. Wella Professionals celebrity stylist, Andy LeCompte created this stunning 'do for the diva and winner of this year's Golden Globes' Best Original Song for a Motion Picture.

To Get The Look: Rough dry hair to manipulate and emphasize natural texture. Then, mist hair with Wella Professionals Thermal Image Heat Protection Spray to protect it from thermal heat while also adding texture. Use a 1-inch flat iron on hair to create soft S formations and add a natural wave texture. Finish with a mist of Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz Beach Texture Spray.

Busy Philipps looked radiant with a voluminous bouffant, thanks to McMillian's expert hairstyling.

To Get The Look: Prep wet hair with Wella Professionals Natural Volume Styling Mousse and loosely dry for a textured finish. Then, spray Wella Professionals Stay Essential Finishing Spray while hair is nearly dry so it's slightly piece-y and pull into an imperfect, textured French twist. Add a headband at the top of the head to complete the look for an added touch of elegance.

Shailene Woodley

Shailene Woodley is only 20 years old, but the talented actress looked poised beyond her years in a Marchesa gown and sophisticated updo, created by Wella Professionals stylist, Campbell McAuley.

To Get The Look: First, prep wet hair using Wella Professionals Velvet Amplifier and then let dry naturally with a diffuser. Once nearly dry, lightly mist hair with Wella Professionals Thermal Image Heat Protection Spray before using a 1 3/4 inch curling iron to enhance natural waves. Once hair is prepped, then take a section from crown to ears to divide hair into a front and back split section. At the back section, pull hair back into a ponytail, not pulling it too tight so that there is still a natural hair movement. Spray Wella Professionals Shimmer Delight Shine Spray in the front section to give the best glossy finish for the red carpet. Then, sculpt hair into a side parted wavy style with hands moving into a beautiful twisted bun. Finish off with Wella Professionals Stay Essential Hairspray.

Get Paula Patton Look from 2012 Golden Globes beauty look featureSephora.com, Inc. Last night one of the most stunning looks of the Golden Globe Awards was Mission Impossible star and presenter Paula Patton. Her strapless yellow dress and chic, sexy hair looked amazing!

Celebrity stylist Robert Steinken explains what inspired the look and how you can get it too.

“The Monique Lhuillier gown looked beautiful on Paula, very movie star,” explained Robert Steinken. “As a result, I envisioned a style with the sophisticated sexiness of Brigitte Bardot, but modern and sexy without looking retro. I also gave the hair a sleek, shiny and luminous look that was soft and full of movement.” - RLB

To Get the Look, here's what he did:

1. I started with damp hair and sprayed a small amount of new Moroccanoil Frizz Control throughout the hair to balance hydration and prevent frizz.

2. Next, I used one of my favorite products, Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream It’s amazing to use because you don’t feel it in the hair and it gives a beautiful texture while softly holding a style and allowing it to move.

3. When I blow-dried hair, I used a round medium-size Moroccanoil Ionic Ceramic Brush. I especially like its design since it holds the heat and acts almost like a roller while you blowdry, giving a nice smooth wave to the hair.

4. Taking 2-3 inch sections, I let the brush to stay in the hair 10-15 seconds longer to allow it to cool and set the hair.

5. Next, I used a 1” curling iron iron. starting at the root and wrapping the hair around the iron in a spiral. I held each section for 15-20 seconds, then removed and pinned the curl with a clip or bobby pin to let it cool.

6. I lightly sprayed the set with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray, unpinned, and brushed the curl out, then made a center part.

7. I then backcombed the hair at the crown for height, starting 3-4” inches from the hairline. To keep the backcomb in place and to style the hair more easily without losing volume, I sprayed it with Moroccanoil Luminious Hairspray.

8. Finally, I sectioned hair behind the top of each ear and brought both sides together in the back with a twist, and pinned.

9. I sprayed Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray on the style for hold. I love this hairspray because it allows movement. Hair can fall forward and move when Paula does. It kept the look very sexy, fluid and beautiful. It’s a unique product.

10. I finished the style with Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray for an extra touch of shine.
