Fragrance Find - Lancome La Vie est Belle

Let's get this out of the way first - I don't just like the bottle for the new Lancome fragrance, I LOVE the Lancome La vie est belle L'Eau de Parfum bottle.

To me, the shape and design of the bottle is a subliminal take on the "chic French women in a beautiful scarf". While it's simple, it quite breathtaking - even more so in person.

The scent is the perfect partner to this great bottle design.  It's based on the idea of the "choice to break free from convention" and is the first ever iris gourmand fragrance.

For me, this is a beautiful, light floral with just a touch of sugar/vanilla sweetness. While it's light, crisp and airy - it's also very long lasting. My morning spritz took me all the way into the evening with no touch ups.The dry down is a bit sweeter and mellow, with the patchouli being very softly well done and not overwhelming.  I got lots of compliments when wearing this one!

Lancome La vie est belle L'Eau de Parfum is not your usual fruity floral - and it's perfect for both day and night. With a bottle this beautiful, start thinking about adding this to your holiday gift list now for the fragrance lovers in your life as well. - RLB

I’d categorize La Vie Est Belle as one of my positive Lancôme experiences, and at the same time I’m guessing that it will be popular with a wider audience. I’d still quibble that it doesn’t really “break through traditional codes to invent a new kind of olfactory language,” as the promotional materials claim, but it’s gracefully composed and it’s very wearable, and it’s been given an appropriately polished presentation. The bottle designed for La Vie Est Belle (see below) feels heavy and sleek, with convex sides and bevelled edges and the finishing touch of a gray organza ribbon. It has a high quality spray mechanism (yes, these things do matter!) and, in a surprising touch, no logo except for a tiny Lancôme rose etched into the top of the atomizer button.
