Beauty Find - MAKE Cosmetics by We See Beauty

It's not often you find a new cosmetics company that blends true artistic vision and purpose, high quality colors and formulas and innovative thinking.  That's why I'm very excited about the new makeup line MAKE from We See Beauty.

One of the new stand out products is their Medieval Palette.  This is the first of a series in which MAKE will pair two unique artists each season to create a concept collection.

The first partnership pairs furniture and interiors designer Faye Toogood (who has worked with Opening Ceremony, Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen) with makeup artist Ayami Nishimura to create the New Medieval Palette (shown at top).

There are four matte eye shadows that work beautifully together or on their own.  Two Grays (Darkness and Cast Iron), a dark smoke (Woad) and cool beautiful blue (Ultramarine - my favorite in the palette, which I also used as shadow and liner). The shadows are smooth, creamy and very pigmented.  They can be layered for more intensity or just brushed on lightly for a sheerer effect.  The lip shades are flattering and at the same time a little edgy - so there's something for everyone.  There's a very matte orange (Magma), two everyday neutrals (Nude, Putty) and very nice Rust shade.  The lip colors are creamy, smooth and wear well.  They also work nicely with gloss if you prefer a shinier finish. Note: The palette does not contains brushes or a mirror.

The packaging is also quite beautiful and perfect for those of you who have an "artsier" side.

Another stand out was their lipsticks.  I fell in love with a shade called Radicchio (shown, left) from the Silk Cream Lipstick line (there are various lipstick finishes in this collection).  This is an bold brown with red undertones. It's creamy, moisturizing and has very good wear (although not designed as a long wear product). The finish is a semi-matte with some sheen. There are a lot of very pretty shades to choose from in this line as well. - RLB
