Drugstore Buy of the Week - COVERGIRL Flamed Out Shadow Pencil

The beauty of having cosmetics in pencil form is that they're easy to carry and pack, and super simple to use. Remember how much fun you had when you were a kid with the crayons?
COVERGIRL recently launched a cool new collection of products fronted by the singer and new CoverGirl, Pink, called the Flamed Out Collection.  Their new CoverGirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencils are the perfect blend of a smooth gel/powder eyeshadow, that sets and then stays put all day.
The colors are bold, bright metallic and fund!  Two of my favorites are 350 Melted Caramel Flame, (shown above), which is a flattering, can't-go-wrong mix of bronze, brown and taupe shades.  I loved to use it as all over lid shade.  My other favorite was 330 Gold Flame, (shown left), which is a medium-yellow gold with a bit more of the shimmer and glitter.
I liked layering these two for night time looks or using the Gold Flame on the lids and the Melted Caramel as a liner around my entire eye for a lighter, more modern smoky eye.
Both of these shades contain both shimmer and a bit of glitter, but again, if you use a light touch of the pencil, it's completely fine for daytime.
The shadow pencils are firm to the touch but are feather light and blended effortlessly.  They couldn't be more simple to work with!  The size of the pencil is perfect for working with in your hands to use as either just a liner or a liner/shadow all over the lid.
The colors are very buildable, so they can go for a subtle shade to a very bold one to change up your look during a day, or just change throughout a given week.  The colors set fairly quickly and then did not budge.  But it did mean I needed to work a fairly quickly to get my desire level of line/color on my lids before it dried.
There is also a slight "cooling" effect when the pencil touches the skin, which is a nice touch for a summer collection, don't you think?  The staying power was very good throughout the day, and I noticed a bit of fading only in the late evening.
Note: This is not a twist up self sharpening pencil, so you will need to use a large size pencil sharpener to refine the point with continued use. - RLB
