Drugstore Buy of the Week - Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Foundation

I've told you about a previous Maybelline Fit Me Liquid Foundation which I loved, and now there's something for the oily girls out there that won't break the bank either!

Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Foundation has a unique formula.  There's a oil absorbing core, visible right within the center of the stick.  When I applied the foundation directly on to my skin, I was amazed how well the color matched and how easily, quickly and smoothly it blended in.  The texture is like that of a lightweight creamy-gel and has a slightly powdery feel once on the skin.

As a matter of fact, although I also tested application with a foundation brush (which worked as well), this stick design and formula is so good, I had just as good results by just swiping the stick on my skin and blending in with the fingers.  The shade I used was Coconut (shown, above), which is the deepest shade in the range currently.

As for the shine free product claim, I was also very impressed.  Once the foundation was on it set and become matte, but still with a natural finish - in other words, my skin didn't look like a mask.  My t-zone barely needed even 1 blot during the day, and there was much less oil than usual on my blotting paper.  What is fantastic about this formula is that even though it sets matte and has oil absorbing properties, it never dried out the rest of my skin, like my cheeks, during the day either!

The coverage is light and can be built up to a medium level.  The stick packaging makes this the perfect addition to your work day makeup bag and for travel.  They really have thought of everything with this foundation.  Amazing! - RLB
