Drugstore Buy of the Week - Sally Hansen Big Peel Off Base Coat

Love the big, chunky
glitter nail polishes - but HATE the effort and excessive amount of nail polish remover needed to remove them?

Sally Hansen Big Peel Of Base Coat could be the life saver your nails have been waiting for.  This base coat is not like your standard base coat - the texture and thickness are similar to, for example, Elmer's Glue (which many nail art aficionados have used for years as a base coat before chunky glitter nail polishes).

However, There are a few different steps to use this base coat effectively.  First, you must apply 1 thick coat of Big Peel Of Base Coat and then wait at least 10 minutes for it to completely dry (I know, I know, you don't want to wait, but believe me, it will be worth it when you see how well it will work in the end).  Also, they do have a warning against exposure to hot water for a few hours after applying, as this will lessen the Big Peel Of Base Coat's effectiveness.

3 Great Glitter Nail Polishes to Try:

Once I made sure it was dry (it dries to a nearly "clear" finish), I applied one of my favorite chunky, glitter nail polishes.  The polish applied smoothly and evenly over the Big Peel Of Base Coat. About 4 days later, I removed by pushing down on the area near my cuticles and then easily pulled sections of polish off my nails.  I would say there were about four sections that I peeled off before it was completely removed (not in one pull, but still pretty fast!)

Once I peeled off the polish, my nail beds were still smooth and didn't feel dry, cracked or damaged. I think Sally Hansen Big Peel Of Base Coat is a must have for those of you who are just starting out with nail art or those who just love glitter polishes (and like to change them often). - RLB
