Sometimes we have just a little bit more to hide than usual…a blemish here, a few dark spots there, dark circles under the eyes...That’s where a good concealer comes in. While foundations will provide overall coverage and even out the skin - the under eye area, lower cheek, and jawline areas often need a thicker, more dense formulation.
Many concealers made by major cosmetics companies suffer from some of the same issues as their foundations – they are too pink or orange for many women of color, the shade range is very limited and/or are too drying.

Concealer should always be your exact shade or 1 shade lighter (maximum!) than your natural skin tone for best results.

Also use a light hand when applying concealer. You can always “build” to the coverage you want, and this way you won't get that “cakey” look.

“I was completely transformed by this one little product from Becca.
Treacle’s slightly yellow/orange undertone really took out the bluish/green dark circles under my eye and lifted the entire area.
It comes in a compact and contains two separate concealers; one for heavier coverage and one for medium coverage. It is definitely one of the better concealers I've tried; it covers beautifully and stays on all day long. It does not smear or settle into fine lines. It felt like a dry thick cream, but I used it under my eyes and was amazed at the way it blended and did not settle into any lines. Please note that because the texture of this product is on the dry side it is best to blend with a concealer brush.
Using a dab of eye cream first gave me the best results for covering my under eye circles. In general I found blending the two sides worked better for me, but for many of you the full coverage will be best for blemishes and other discolorations and the medium for under eye circles. It also did a great job covering a few brown spots on my cheeks and chin. It also provided a fantastic base for my eye make up when I used on my eye lid.
The color match was excellent and this brand has made a great range of shades with subtle differences to let all women, even those of you with very dark brown skin get the perfect one. This one concealer fulfils all my needs so perfectly!” T.K.

"I have searched far and wide for the perfect concealer. I needed one to not only cover my dark under eye circles, but to hide any occasional blemishes that may pop up. I have found the solution in this concealer! And the best part is I have used this for close to 3 months and haven't even made a dent in it yet! It literally lasts forever so it is worth every penny. One thing to note is that the secret to secret camouflage is the application- because of its thickness, it's best not to apply this one directly with your fingers. I used a concealer brush, took a few strokes of one color on one side, the other color on the other side, and mixed them together on the back of my hand until I got the perfect shade.
For a blemish, I would feather it onto the blemish with the brush -- very light strokes then I faded the rest into my skin so it blended in. The genius in this product is that because there are two shades, you can mix it according to what your skin color is at that moment in time; which is perfect for me as I get 2-3 shades darker in the summer, but fade to a much paler golden-yellow brown in the winter. For under eye circles I used just a tiny bit mixed with a little light moisturizer, as the consistency is too thick to apply directly from the pan under the eyes, because the skin there is delicate and it looked too cakey that way. This concealer will cover just about anything, and the best part about it is that it contains blemish-fighting ingredients so it doesn't aggravate your skin!" L.B.

“This is really a product that can do it all (concealer, foundation and powder) and do it WELL. It’s opaque enough to work as a concealer, very natural looking and matte, provides a natural foundation coverage, and the finish is just like a powder. The color match was excellent – just the right amount on yellow/orange to match my shade. It just made my skin look so polished and fresh every day. For my normal skin with occasional breakouts, this was the best thing for making my skin look great. It is just like Bare Minerals but less messy and lasts much longer...also great to carry in my purse, and it is also very easy to apply! The coverage was great, and it didn’t irritate my skin at all. During the day it keep my t-zone fairly matte, the color and coverage stayed true.
I like it because it gives you as little and as much coverage as you want and you don't have to use a liquid foundation with it. (I don't like to layer my face with tons of makeup). Now this is the only product in my makeup bag that I think I wouldn't be able to live without. I get beautiful, smooth and even skin and it looks so natural. For me, no other mineral makeup comes close to Jane Iredale. My search is over. "This concealer really is the best I have ever used. The packaging is like a lipstick tube and is very sturdy. I applied the concealer with the tube and then patted it on my skin with my fingers, which worked really well. It's not cakey or flakey at all and matched my skin tone exactly, with exactly the right amount of yellow undertones. It's quite creamy, but did not turn greasy or heavy, and applied so smoothly. It blended in beautifully without tugging or pulling. This covered my under eye circles and little blemishes beautifully without looking cakey. It's not too creamy and not too dry, just perfect. This is definitely my "Must Have" concealer. With their current color selection, these will work up to my complexion. A brilliant little product all around!" L.G.

Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer
What we loved: We were very excited when we tested this product. Just a dot of this super concentrated, pigmented concealer melted over our testers dark circles so seamlessly that we were indeed amazed. Since such a small amount is needed, it makes this product very economical too! Works well with the Powder Foundation or alone. Also worked equally well to cover up small blemishes as well and has very long lasting staying power - stays on until you wash it off at night!

L'Oreal True Match Concealer
What we loved: The colors blend extraordinarily well. Even though this product looks dark and heavy in the tube, when applied with the brush, and using several light layers instead of just one thick layer, it can cover even the darkest spots and reddest pimples. You have to love that! Also the packaging is a small tube (which makes it easier for travel and mid-day touch ups). Even for some of our South Asian testers, who had heriditary dark undereye circles, it worked very well to provide good, natural coverage. Sue Devitt Automatic Camouflage Concealer This is a creamy stick formula in a convenient twist up application. This contains Nylon-12, an ingredient which actually “bends” with human skin. Provides flawless, long-lasting coverage. Shade range was not extensive, but the product was one of our tester's favorites for it's creamy formula, packaging, and ability to cover blemishes and dark circles. This creamy, liquid concealer hides flaws, blemishes, and dark circles with full, natural-looking coverage. This was another big winner with our testers. Great shade range and the fomula was easy to blend and covered well. Formula did not cake during the day and a "little went a long way" according to one of our testers.
