“OK girls --for those of you who love cute makeup packaging and also expect a quality product, Hard Candy has created the ultimate kit! I LOVE this kit and by the end of my review period, I could not pry this out of my bag! (Yes, I especially loved the adorable Chinese take out package!!!)
This is super small – (1"in x 3.5"in x 2” in) and light weight to carry with me for touch ups. Now on to the actual kit contents…
This very cute multi-level (3 levels) makeup palette contains 8 tiny eye shadows in various colors (Note: they are on the sparkly side), 2 concealers, a blush, a bronzer, 6 lip glosses, tiny black eyeliner and black mascara. Most of the eye shadows are very workable and flattering shades and the lip glosses are cute with many browns, reds and pink which are on the sheer/medium finish side. I found that my favorite product in this case was a total surprise -- the concealers...yes, the concealers. The coverage was fantastic and the color match was very good as well. This kit really contains everything you need to create a full face!
The products also smell yummy, like sugar, the blush is a nice color, and the bronzer is also very flattering with good wear. The mascara is GREAT as well and I would use it solo. The palette itself has a cute mirror, and while the applicators are fine for on the go application, overall I found better results using my professional brushes applying it at home.” T.A.
Editor’s Note: While there are a several colors in this palette in the eye and lip sections that do work with darker brown skin tones, as a whole this is best for skin tones in the Lisa Ling to Mya range.

“This is one of those “quiet” products within the Hauschka line, which is absolutely amazing! It is now my must have face product each and every morning – and here’s why.
This product can, in fact, provide a “tanned” effect for lighter brown skin, however, with my skin tone, since I don’t really need tanning, what it was replaced with was a fantastic evening out and enhancing of my complexion and an amazing glow (not shine or shimmer) that I have yet to see in any other product I’ve tried.
Each morning I use two pumps of the product mixed with a little non-oily sunscreen. I then pressed/patted the product on to my skin. Within a minute or two the product dried down completely. I didn’t experience any breakouts or clogged pores which is another huge plus. It is scented like most Hauschka products – an herb/flower mix which is very pleasant and does not linger very long. My face was hydrated but did not get too oily in my T-Zone either – amazing!
Another fantastic effect is that I found that on many days, my skin was enhanced so much; I didn’t really find the need for other makeup like blush/bronzer. This is an awesome product.
While I was using the product I went away and got a tan and the product still worked with my skin tone and gave me that same great effect.
Another plus is that it is chemical free, which also made me feel really great about using it. This bronze glow/tint is so completely natural and beautiful that I can't believe I ever used anything else – and now I won’t!” S.D.

Chanel Irreelle Blush - Mystery

“I’m very familiar with the Chanel family of fragrances, but unbelievably, until now, I had never tried any of the cosmetics – I had always admired them from afar – the classy packaging and beautiful counter displays…Well, better late than never! I tried the Irreelle blush in Mystery, and it went on like a perfect sun kissed bronze. Mystery is such a beautiful complex color, it's almost like a custom blend of blush and bronzer-bronze with a tinge of red. This blush is beautiful in the package -- rosy, pinky, bronzy and glittery.
This could very well be THE nicest blush I've ever used. The texture and feel of the blush on my skin was like the finest silk. Mystery is a rosy bronze color on my skin (I get a bit more brown than pink) and absolutely gorgeous! It goes on light and is easily buildable while the color stays natural looking. Just gorgeous! It is not glittery on the cheek. This will work best up to about a Kerry Washington complexion. If you are darker, it will make a nice highlighter on the top of the cheekbones. I felt this was great for me when I wanted definition without a lot of pink or red color. Plus it's just so beautiful in its container! I have officially succumbed to the world of Chanel Beaute!” Y.N.
Note: The trick for the best application is to tap it all over the cheeks with a big brush and then blend with fingers or a sponge.

“I am admittedly a lover of Chanel cosmetics, but I have mostly used the lip products, so when I had the opportunity to try one of their Irreelle blushes I was ecstatic! This is exactly what I would have thought a Chanel blush would be- a pinky-red blush with a bit of shimmer that will actually work with many different skin tones. On my skin it looked like a healthy flush of color -- a lovely “lit from within” effect. This is a pink, but it is amazing. Not a true pink -- almost a purply pink. But don’t worry! It is gorgeous and the shimmer is very subtle and flattering and adds a nice bit of dimension to the product.
It looks great with all types of eye looks (dark smoky, grey smoky I even tried it with a dramatic navy smoky eye at night and it was amazing! The staying power is fantastic as well. This is a little gem of a product. This will work best up to about a Gabrielle Union shade. A luxury that is worth every penny!
P.S. This also an amazing shower gift for your beauty loving girlfriends! I recently provided several of these for my good friend’s wedding shower and you should have seen how they swooned!” G.J.

"Awesome product! I love bronzers. I used Golden, a definite golden shade with little red/brown tones. I have brown skin with extremely yellow undertones and this shade looks like my skin with a tan (but different than bronzed). It has a little shimmer, not too much, but enough to give the skin a nice dewy look without being metallic.
Overall, the texture is very smooth (even with fingers), it made my skin look silky and very natural, but enhanced. It didn’t irritate my skin or cause breakouts, and the color stayed true during the day when I got a little more oil on my skin. Very nice! This particular shade will work best up to about a Whitney Houston shade, but they have a third darker one, Sunshine, that will work up to an Iman shade." P.M.

“I liked this product. I've been using it for several weeks (applying a light skin primer first) and I've had a ton of compliments on my skin. I have combination skin, and good skin tone with very few blemishes or discolorations, so this is best for those of you who only need lighter coverage. The feel and texture on my skin was very light and airy, and the color match was good. I would a use a little powder over it to set it, and it's worked out great.
For those of you with very dry skin, it would be best to put on a medium weight moisturizer before applying this product.”

“This is really a product that can do it all (concealer, foundation and powder) and do it WELL. It’s opaque enough to work as a concealer, very natural looking and matte, provides a natural foundation coverage and the finish is just like a powder. The color match was excellent – just the right amount on yellow/orange to match my shade. It just made my skin look so polished and fresh every day. For my normal skin with occasional breakouts, this was the best thing for making my skin look great. It is just like bare minerals but less messy and lasts much longer...also great to carry in my purse, and it is also very easy to apply! The coverage was great, and it didn’t irritate my skin at all. During the day it keep my t-zone fairly matte, the color and coverage stayed true.
I like it because it gives you as little and as much coverage as you want and you don't have to use a liquid foundation with it. (I don't like to layer my face with tons of makeup). Now this is the only product in my makeup bag that I think I wouldn't be able to live without. I get beautiful, smooth and even skin and it looks so natural. For me, no other mineral makeup comes close to Jane Iredale. My search is over. More great pluses are that it contains all natural ingredients, it’s natural feeling, gives a natural appearance, talc free and No Animal Testing!!” V.A.

"I love the new warm shade of Golden Apricot. It's a very natural and flattering toasty brown/apricot shade with goldtone shimmer to it that is noticeable and yet still subtle. This is hands down the blush that I keep reaching for day in and day out! The perfect shade year round, and I also found that it worked well with my bronzers. Great staying power. I like the mineral products and how great they are for your skin. Love this pigment rich blush! The packaging is nice and small so you can take it with you. Not necessary to reapply- it lasts all day. Best of all, it does not clog my pores like other blushes have. An excellent product overall. This is a color that gives me such a healthy glow. It wore really well throughout the day and did not fade at all. This will flatter up to about a Nia Long complexion. "This has been one of the best and luckiest makeup finds I have made. While the consistency of the actual product appears a little strange at first...when I actually applied to the skin, the result was truly impressive. I have normal to oily skin...and this foundation kept my skin looking clean and radiant. My skin looked and felt like silk, with all the little imperfections and discolorations completely covered. I think her line carries some of the best mineral foundations and the Liquid Minerals are no exception. I also love the innovative packaging which is a jar with a pump which keeps it from being contaminated and inside are tiny spheres of the product which only break as you pump it out. I feel this keeps it fresher too. The color match was superb and it felt so light and fresh on my skin without causing any breakouts or oily patches during the day. Note from manufacturer: Apply Liquid Minerals with our Foundation Brush. The first few pumps will release a clear gel. This is aloe vera. Rub it into your hands; it's good for them. Two pumps of Liquid Minerals on the back of your hand will cover most of your face. Pick it up with the dry Foundation Brush for a heavier coverage. Wet the brush for a more sheer coverage.

I love the smell of these blotting linens Not only do they smell fresh, but they absorbed every single bit of oil on my forehead, nose and cheeks. “With this spray foundation the coverage and the “no makeup feel” you get is absolutely incredible and worth every cent. This makeup comes in a spray bottle and you spray a small amount on a sponge and apply it to your skin. This is the first foundation that truly makes my skin look good but i don’t feel or look like I’m wearing any foundation, it just looks like nice clean, perfect skin. A natural, flawless finish in a perfect color my match my skin! Amazing…
I know some people may be intimidated by a spray foundation as you may think that applying it is difficult. It simply took a few practices and I was on my way! What I would do is spray a small amount on a flat surface and use a foundation brush. Best of all, just a small amount is needed and the finish is very natural, but not too matte. P.S. I prefer using a foundation brush and not the sponge, but this is a matter of preference and the look you are going for. Included in the box are some alternate application methods.
The coverage is medium but you can layer it as much as you want if you need heavier coverage (This is also great for television or print work). After about 15 min, my face looked dewy and beautiful. It also stayed put throughout the whole day . I even found during a trip to a warm weather city that I got the same result which was amazing!

“This is cute, convenient and gives a quick pop of color, which I liked. It’s a mini-roller applicator which I swiped on the apples of my cheeks first. The dry down is pretty quick, and you can blend in with your fingers as well. The color is a pretty pinky-candy apple color which looks fresh and healthy. It remained all day into the night. On the lips it gives that rosy “I always wake up looking this way” effect. I would sometimes apply this at night before bed to give that very effect to my boyfriend! During the day, I would sometimes add a touch of lip gloss, but the color remains all day (notwithstanding a very oily salad) and didn’t dry out my lips. Very nice product”. P.Y.

Jemma Kidd Make Up School POWDER BLUSH DUO in Desert Sand/Plum

“This blush duo is fantastic. The desert sand side is a pink/coral with a touch of golden shimmer, and the plum is matte and has a touch of brown to even out the purple tones. I applied the plum on my apples as directed and the desert sand on the tops of my cheekbones. It gives a very nice feel to the cheeks during the day, and I would add on a little more of the shimmery side if I was going out at night. The texture is very silky and fine and easily blendable. I also used the kabuki essential face brush with is very well made and really small but easily maneuverable. The packaging is super cute and includes very detailed instructions which are very helpful to apply for the best effect. The compact is very flat and light and covered in what feels like a soft rubber which is very different and really stands out. I’ll be trying more from this line for sure.” H.D.

Mally BEAUTY Perfect Palette Total Face Kit

“You know the saying “You can’t have it all”? Well in this case Mally has come pretty close to giving it to us! This is a great neutral palette which is very versatile. I could create both a cooler neutral look (using the pink blush and plum eye shadow with the black eyeshadow as a liner), or a warmer one using various brown eye shadow shades and the more bronzy blush. There really is a lot here that work with many skin tones. This palette has quite a lot of products in it, so you really could get away with packing this on a vacation or for your day at the office and not need much else (it even has 3 brushes included!).
As you can see the case the kit comes in is just adorable! It's a sequenced pink and green stripped bag that holds the brushes and palette nicely with a snap closing. Great for travel! The palette features the three very good quality brushes (liner, mini blush and eyeshadow, all with her cute signature pink metal handle. There is 1 lipstick (French Kiss- sheer medium pink) which is gorgeous and very smooth and sheer, almost gloss like but not thick (if you have more darkly pigmented lips this will only work as a gloss over your lip color of choice). 1 whiteish highlighter that is creamy and gives a very nice glow. The two blushes mentioned above (one is a sunkissed shade- Hula Girl and the other is a slightly golden medium pink- Mally's Baby). They have a glow to them, they are not matte. Both are super smooth and glide on great leaving that 'glow' effect.
Then there are 6 eye shadows. The shadows are super smooth and blend easily. Taupe (slightly shimmery taupe shade, a tad mid darker than the lightest shade in brownstone), Mattebright (matte taupe, which I used almost every day), Terrific (slightly shimmery medium gray), Brownies (slightly shimmery copper brown), Sensational (shimmery black with flecks of silver), and Plum Wicked (shimmery true plum) which I also loved using almost every day and especially for creating a plum version of a smoky eye at night. The palette as a whole will work best up to a Garcelle Beauvais complexion; however, individually, the shadows alone will work with even darker women up to a Grace Jones complexion. This is yet another winner for Mally in my book!” J.M.

"First off, I love, love, love this set. I've been using mine for almost two months and still have enough powder in each trio to last the rest of the year. It’s important that people understand the concept of this system. The effect is supposed to give you is very soft, light, and no-nonsense. This means that it’s not for those of you who want a really intense pop of color on the cheeks.
What is so amazing is that everything in this kit is subtle, classy, and convenient. When you apply the shimmer you don't think very much is going on, but there is enough to make people notice and make a statement. Trust me, people notice! Whenever I wore this I received many compliments on my skin tone and overall complexion. I've had a nice glow with lightly pinky cheeks. This was also perfect for me as a new mom because I’m always struggling to get out of the door in the morning! Now I don’t have to fuss finding other make up. It took me less than 3 minutes to apply this system each morning!
This kit comes in a compact with three different colors, all the brushes needed for the application, and a carrying case that holds everything.
Step one-Shimmer. Using the white side of the dual ended brush to apply the lightest shade I find I get the right amount of the product where I need it. The shimmer is the perfect color to high light my cheek bones. I can not make a mistake with this step as the effect is subtle but noticeable. There is an ever so slight luminosity to the shimmer, but overall it has a matte appearance.
Step two-Shape. Using the darker side of the dual ended brush to apply this color I find the contour color subtle yet effective in defining the hollows of my cheeks. It has a matte finish.
Step three- Glow. I used the large brush to apply this is the color to the fullest part or apples of my cheeks. This warm pink shade has a little light reflecting quality that is not glittery but is light reflective. Glow is a good name for this because it does just that. Fantastic product at a great price too! This color palette will work up to about a Kerry Washington complexion." L.D.

"I've known about Mally for a while and LOVE the looks she gives to Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez, but had not tried any of her products until this test. Now I can say I truly love this product and Mally is a force to be reckoned with in the cosmetics industry!
I used this in the rich color as I have a bit of a tan right now. The packaging is slightly heavier than I expected, but the upside is that the very cute metallic pink case holds a HUGE mirror and a very good amount of product, a long with a foundation sponge. It is a very light powder that melted into my skin and it did a nice job of covering my little discolorations. The shade was very natural and soft looking. It was also a great match for my skin tone. As continued using it, I found that I didn't have any problems with breakouts or irritation. This foundation can be used wet or day, and I had very good results with both, although I preferred using it dry. Just a few little swipes on the sponge in the morning and my skin looked completely "done".
Throughout the day my skin remained looking fresh with a beautiful finish and the foundation stayed put almost the whole day. Even though in the past I have preferred liquid formulations, I really like this powder foundation and find myself reaching for it everyday now." P.L.

Skincolor De La Mer - The Powder - Poudre de La Mer

How many ways can you say lovely? This is a lovely, lovely face powder. It's nicer than other face powders (probably the nicest I've ever used) and it has the silkiest, light as air texture I have ever seen in a face powder. I got translucent and it has the most beautiful sheen to it. There's tourmaline in it by the way but the first ingredient is Talc (like most face powders). I used the Bronze color and it was a very nice match. It is beautiful over any foundation (including of course the la mer foundation which I also love!) The only complaint I have about it, other than the price is the heaviness of the jar. It is packaged in a HUGE glass jar which weighs like a pound (so not exactly something you can travel with). *Beautiful*!!! The particles in this powder are so amazingly fine. The powder glides on like air. This powder has the softest, silkiest, lightest feel and it provides the most beautiful finish to the LaMer foundation or any foundation I would imagine. It compliments your face as it sets your foundation and does not sit on your skin like some loose powders in translucent. Creates a flawless finish. Unlike other loose powders where you can actually see "powder" on the skin, this loose powder just looks like your skin is airbrushed and perfect. So beautiful! the heavy glass container this comes in is H-U-G-E, so it lasts a long, long time! Perfection!

"As a big fan of the La Mer line, I was super anxious the day I got this sample to try. I used the Golden shade and found that like it's other products, this La Mer foundation is silky, creamy and luxurious in consistency. I used just a pea sized amount and it gave me coverage over my entire face. It glided on my skin super smooth (almost like melted butter) and was not difficult to blend in. I was able to apply a second application (under the eye to cover darker circles there) without it getting tacky and it didn't just sit there on top of the first layer. It absorbs nicely into the skin, giving a smooth finish.
This is truly everything a foundation should be! It is not matte but highly moisturizing. After applying it the first morning and then taking a look in my rear view mirror later that day, all I could say to myself was "OOHH La La...is that my skin? My skin was super smooth, as well as radiant. Is it worth it's price ? Yes! Yes! Yes! As any woman (and especially a makeup junkie) knows, the best makeup finish makes it look as if you have amazing skin but like you are NOT WEARING MAKEUP. This is exactly what the La Mer foundation does. Every day it just looked as if I had amazing, glowing skin but it never looked that I was ever wearing makeup! I also experienced NO breakouts or dry patches whatsoever. As for the durability, the color stays true and it didn't turn orange or ashy on me like some foundations can. It is an small pear-shaped hot pink colored sponge. It has a super baby soft suede texture that is very flexible so that its curves fit the contours of my face when applying foundation and my tinted moisturizer.
What I would do is first apply the face product and then "brush" with the Beautyblender lightly to "blend" and I looked flawless. I also loved how easy it was to clean with the Blendercleanser. It's easy to pack in a makeup bag and comes in a very, very cute little pouch. I love it!"

"I am usually NOT a foundation person AT ALL but this was so lightweight I felt like it was a moisturizer. I mixed two shades, Caramel & Honey to come up with a close enough match for my skin. It didn't feel all that heavy but I did feel it slipping after about 4 hours of wear. I recommend using a sponge to get even application. You could even use this to make a tinted moisturizer - which is eventually the way I liked it the best." L.F.
