Bobbi Brown Lip Crayon in Naked Pink

Tester: Multi-Ethnic (Japanese & Irish) about Lindsey Price’s (from Lipstick Jungle TV show) complexion with lightly pigmented lips that are dry.

“This was the first time I’ve ever used one of Bobbi’s lip crayons and I must say that this is really a little gem!  The color a very pretty cool toned pink with a touch of brown which was perfect for an everyday look, or even for the office.  It’s pink, but it’s not too bright and was very flattering on me.  The texture of the crayon was very light, soft and smooth on my lips.  I also loved the peppermint flavor! Just a few quick swipes of the crayon were enough to spread the color over my lips. 

I found that using my finger to do a final blend of the color gave me a nice light berry stained look, but if I was in a rush I would just apply with the crayon itself.  The lasting power was excellent.  It lasted through most of my morning (including coffee, etc), with only a touch up or two all day.  Although it’s a matte formula, it was not too drying for my lips (most of the time I would apply a layer of lip balm first if I felt my lips were especially dry, or before a plane flight).

I love the idea of carrying my lip color in a convenient crayon, and the cap design is very good, so I never had to worry about it coming off in my bag.  It also comes with a sharpener.  Great concept. Fantastic color. Amazing texture and wear! This particular color will work best up to a Beyonce shade, and there are several deeper ones available as well for darker women.”  L.T.

Bobbi Brown Glitter Lip Gloss in Almost Bare (shown above)

Tester: Multi-Ethnic (Dominican & Irish) about Rihanna’s complexion with lightly pigmented lips that are dry.

“This is a very pretty lip gloss that is glittery, but not over the top in any way.  The shade is a flattering creamy champagne peach with a touch of light brown (that looks great with the shades in the Bobbi Brown Nude Palette as well).This is meant to be a “your lips but better” shade, with a bit of kick to it.  I generally wore this over one of the Bobbi Brown Nude palette colors, and also with other light brown/pink lip shades.

I loved that the gloss is not too sticky, gave a nice shine, felt light on my lips, and the glitter was not large or gritty. The glitter also did not “migrate” or flake off during the day, which I appreciated.  The staying power is excellent as well for a gloss.  Since this is a sheer shade, if your lips are more pigmented, a base of light brown liner or lipstick will be needed to really see the full color, although the glitter particles do show up in any event.  This will work to enhance any nude lip shade on all skin tones.” H.L.

Tester: Hispanic (Dominican) with med-dry lips.

“If you love lemon cookies (and all things lemony in general) then this is the lip product for you!  This lip treatment is incredibly yummy, and yes does taste like lemon drop cookies.  I found that this is best for morning use as a base for lip color to keep lips hydrated (those of you with very dry lips will need to apply to more frequently however—which is not necessarily a bad thing since it’s so heavenly tasting!).

In addition it has a neat metal shape(it’s a bit hefty in weight) and that means it was  easy to find in my bag.  I love that the heavy duty twist on cap prevents debris or dust from collecting around the cap. It coated my lips with a protective layer that made them perfectly soft AND it has the SPF, which is a must!

This is a lip moisturizer for when you want to treat yourself and smile every time you take it out of your bag.

Note: For a great weekly lip treatment I would exfoliate with a washcloth and then apply a thick layer of the treatment before bed for super soft and luscious lips in the AM!” H.V.

Tester: African (Somalian) about Megan Good’s complexion with med/darkly pigmented lips that are dry.

“This is an exquisite red gloss. Every time I put it on it just brightened my whole face! It's a red/pink shade and really not like any other gloss I've ever used - it's more like a lipstick. This is a gloss with an amazing quality. The texture of Campari is exquisite -not sticky or goopy but like a soft silky satin.  The effect is not too shiny, but definitely not completely matte, which makes it perfect for daytime and suitable for night as well (unless you are looking for a very high gloss look). It's was very moisturizing and when it faded, it did so very evenly and left a nice stain on my lips.

There is a very nice amount of pigment which I could adjust depending on how many layers I applied (It looks more red the more you apply). The coverage provided full color while letting my own lips show through, a nice effect that allows this product to be appropriate in more casual and daytime settings compared to other more dramatic and full-coverage reds. This is easily the best lip product I have tried for a long time. I love everything about this gloss - it has just the right amount of shine to it for me and makes my lips feel very soft and comfortable with its moisturizing ingredients and SPF. The little silver flip-up compact with mirror is just so glamorous!  This will look best up to an Oprah complexion.” A.D.
