Last month we featured a beautiful palette from model-turned beauty maven, Josie Maran.
Josie's product combine all natural ingredients with suburb color selection, performance and long lasting wear. Her latest product is the amazing Josie Maran Magic Marker Lip & Cheek Stain . True to it's name, it's a stain for lips and cheeks that provides vibrant color, speedy drying time and all day wear. The secret is a blend of Hylronic Acid and sugar extracts which are designed to smooth and plump lips.
The best feature of the pen is that it's pretty much fool proof - the tip of the pen is saturated with color, and I found that just a few quick swipes on the top and bottom of my mouth provided great coverage, and fantastic color. I also waited for the color to dry and set completely before touching because, as stated in the directions, it can transfer and smudge if you do not wait. It didn't take more than a minute.
Note: all of the shades in this collection are on the bright end of the spectrum, so they're for days when you want the focus to be on your lips. I personally loved Josie Maran Magic Marker Lip & Cheek Stain in Foxtrot , which is a pretty, mid-toned wine shade, leaning towards red/plum. I always fear my lips drying out when I use a lip stain, but not with these - my lips stayed soft all day, although on many days I still added just a touch of lip gloss, which didn't interfere with the stain's lasting power.
For cheeks I tried something a little different - adding it to a slightly damp makeup sponge first, then applying. Again, I applied quickly and with a light circular motion on the apples of my cheeks, and then waited for it to dry. The cheek color also lasted all day with no smudging, fading or running.
This is the perfect multi-tasking product when you want vibrant, bold, cheery color and want it to stay all day without thinking about it! - RLB
