Drugstore Buy of the Week - Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Treatment Cream

A few weeks ago during a VERY oppressive heat/humidity wave I got not one but two surprise acne flareups.

I normally use Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, but I was out of it and wanted something fast.  I found Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Treatment Cream and while it didn't get rid of the breakouts in 4 hours, within 24 hours I had a visible reduction in their size.

I applied by dabbing it on with a Q-tip after cleansing my skin 2x the first day.  Once in the AM (didn't wear makeup over it) and then later that evening, layering it more thickly and leaving it on as a mask overnight.

The next day all the blemishes were 50% smaller and there was no more redness.  I did the same thing the next day and by the following morning they were almost gone.

I didn't experience any excessive drying, peeling or irritation, but I did use it only as a spot treatment,  concentrating it on the 4 or so blemishes I had only.

This is also a great product to have on hand if you feel pimples coming on, or want to apply to areas which get monthly breakouts, proactively - like the forehead and chin.  Used this way, I notice that it's keeping future breakouts at bay.

While this is not a solution for serious, persistent acne or very large breakouts, it's perfect for those last minute "I can't believe it!" blemishes you might get before a big event, while traveling or before having to take a photo. - RLB
